Expansive, without excess

At 10,000 square feet, the challenge was never about space. It was how to make a large property feel like home.

Our answer was to blur the lines between interior and exterior, making nature an integral part of the home and opening up the living space for family connection.

A two-story skylit gallery anchors the home. It leads your eye out toward the pool and expansive golf course views.

Main living areas open to covered outdoor gathering spaces. Upstairs, glass-lined walkways maintain connection between levels.

Seamless approval, daily discovery

The Edgemont Residence was one of the first to fully reflect our architectural theory, Enermimetic Architecture. Every detail was designed to help the residents experience harmony with their surroundings.

Despite its bold aesthetic, the home was approved by the local Appearance Committee without question. In an area with more traditional homes, Edgemont Residence redefines what’s possible.

This project stands out in the area, and we still receive compliments regularly. We look forward to the family’s reactions as the seasons change, light moves about the home differently, and they continue making discoveries.

A modern retreat for a full life

The clients, two doctors with four children, came to MX3 ready to create the custom home they’d always wanted.

They’d already found their dream property, which backed up to a private golf course they were members of. On it, they envisioned a home that was spacious enough for a family of six while still blending into the expansive surroundings.

With full lives and little time to spare, they trusted us to lead the creative process.

Designed to belong

We softened the home’s form with warmth by using floating wood ceilings, rhythmic detailing, and tones that echo the surrounding landscape.

Limestone and white stucco allow the home to mirror the light aesthetic of its surroundings. Red olive aluminum panels downplay the scale, creating a playful visual presence.

While interiors push your focus out toward the horizon, the home’s energy systems make the most of nature, too. We used high-efficiency mechanical systems and roof-mounted solar panel arrays for more sustainable living.
